End User License Agreement
Last Updated: September 21, 2026
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and Docsheim ("we," "us," or "our") for the IDML Converter desktop software, including updates and documentation (the "Software").
By installing, activating or using the Software you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
The website, your account, subscriptions and payments are governed by the Terms of Service; this EULA governs your use of the installed Software.
1. License Grant
Subject to this EULA and a valid license (trial or paid), Docsheim grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on the number of devices permitted by your license, for your own internal purposes.
The Software is licensed, not sold. Docsheim and its licensors retain all rights, title and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights.
2. Free Trial
The free trial is limited to 7 days or 100 converted pages, whichever occurs first, unless different conditions are displayed when the trial is issued.
No payment method is required for the free trial. When the trial ends, the Software stops converting until a paid license is activated.
You may not register repeated trials, reset trial counters, or otherwise circumvent trial limitations.
3. License Tokens
The Software is activated with a license token. The token is a credential that verifies your right to use the Software; it does not represent ownership of the Software.
Keep your token secure. Do not publish, sell, share, sublicense or distribute it.
If a license token is lost, a replacement token may be issued after verification of the associated purchase or subscription. Once a replacement token is issued, the previous token will be immediately invalidated. Replacement is available in the license portal or through customer support.
4. Devices
A paid license may be activated on up to two (2) devices, unless a different limit is specified for your plan.
The Software identifies a device with a locally derived device identifier. You can release a device you no longer use in the license portal so that the seat becomes available for another device.
Using a single license as a shared multi-user license, or circumventing the device limit, is a material breach of this EULA.
5. Online Validation and Offline Use
The Software validates your license online at activation and periodically afterwards.
An activated application may operate offline for up to 7 days from the most recent successful license validation. After that, an internet connection is required to validate the license before continued use.
Validation may also be required after a token replacement, a license suspension, a subscription expiry, a significant device change or another security-related event.
6. Local Processing of Your Documents
Document conversion is performed locally on your computer. The Software does not upload your IDML files, images, PSD or AI assets, document text or converted DOCX files to Docsheim's servers.
The Software communicates with Docsheim's license server only for license activation and validation, device authorization, subscription status, trial and usage-limit enforcement (page counts), abuse prevention and update checks. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Restrictions
You may not:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the Software, except as permitted by applicable law;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- circumvent or tamper with license, trial, device, usage or security mechanisms, or manipulate usage information sent to the license server;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or otherwise transfer the Software or your license;
- remove or alter proprietary notices; or
- use the Software in violation of applicable law or the rights of others.
8. Your Content
You retain all rights in the documents, images and other content you process with the Software. Docsheim claims no ownership of your content.
You are responsible for having the rights needed to convert, reproduce, modify and distribute the documents and assets you process, including fonts, images and third-party content.
9. Third-Party Trademarks and Software
Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PSD and AI are trademarks or registered trademarks of Adobe Inc. Microsoft and Word are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. The Software is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Adobe Inc. or Microsoft Corporation.
The Software may include open-source components licensed under their own terms, which are listed in the application's third-party notices.
10. Updates
Docsheim may provide updates, patches and new versions. Updates may add, change or remove functionality. Access to some updates or major versions may depend on your license plan. Docsheim may discontinue support for outdated versions when reasonably necessary.
11. Term and Termination
This EULA applies for as long as you use the Software. Your license ends when your trial or subscription expires, when you uninstall the Software, or when Docsheim terminates the license because of a material breach of this EULA or the Terms of Service.
Upon termination you must stop using the Software and remove it from your devices. Sections 6 to 9 and 12 to 14 survive termination.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Software is provided "as is" and "as available". Docsheim does not warrant that the Software will convert every document perfectly, meet every requirement, or operate without interruption or error. InDesign and Word use different layout models, and exact reproduction of every document element cannot be guaranteed.
Nothing in this section excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Docsheim will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, business, data or production time, arising from or related to the Software.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Docsheim's aggregate liability arising from the Software will not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable license during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14. Governing Law
This EULA is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
